Furthermore, Community policing helps distinguish the difference between those members of community who are prolific offenders and those residents who commit low-level crimes such as anti social behaviour. One should not forget that Community policing provides reassurance and helps to reduce the fear of crime as well as helps build trust and confidence between the community and the police. Community policing emphasises the use of discretion by police officers rather than the use of arrests. One might suggest that the concept behind this is that the community may be more willing to allow the police to enforce law and order. In other words, harsh punishments like arrests may have a negative impact. However, Community policing does not totally de-emphasises the use of arrests but should be used as a last resource, in al some cases like the Newspaper article the use of arrests may have more of a good impact. In other words, Community policing sounds and sells better in political terms to the community as it is community orientated. But in police practice Community policing may have little value although there is no evidence to suggest this. For instance, some police officers may have not been asked but have been told that they are part of Community policing. Furthermore, the Birmingham West and Central Local Policing Unit of the West Midlands Police consists of 11 Neighbourhood Policing Teams which in total has 149 Police Officers and 97 Police Community Support Officers. The areas which the Birmingham West and Central Local Policing Unit covers as geographically big, residential and disadvantaged areas. This could be an indication that the police may not prefer Community policing and that they are not equipped to multitask in their role. Police Officers who may wish to progress their life history may find it difficult as Community policing may be seen as a less useful a ttribute. On the other hand, middle class communities may be more willing to work with the police than fractured and disadvantaged communities who may be unwilling to work with the police due to lack of trust and confidence. Moreover, even those who wish to work closely with the police may be deterred because of intimidation from other residents. The belief that a community exists may be a myth as communities are so diverse where does one start and where does one end. Developments of Community policing has led the Government to develop guidance for Neighbourhood Policing Teams to engross with children and young people. The early Intervention and Prevention of Youth Crime and Anti Social Behaviour has been developed to allow the police tackle and prevent crime and anti social behaviour through prevention. This benefits the community as children and young people who are the next generation are driven away from crime and anti- social behaviour, but instead are educated, helped and dr iven towards a goal to achieve in life.Overall, Community policing is a better style of policing for the community as it a philosophy that allows the community to work together with the police and partners to solve problems, fear of crime, physical and social disorder. Community policing helps define problems, shapes and forms priorities, examines and identifies problems as well as promotes community involvement and joint action. Community policing involves teamwork and commitment from all parties and requires a genuine partnership between the community, the police, local authority and other partners. To one extent Community policing controls crime but also meets the needs of the community. Community policing provides a quality, efficient and a comprehensive police service that is customer focused and most of all, ensures that the police move away from a reacting policing approach but to a proactive approach where the concept is to prevent crime.

biological science and Psychology   University has always appealed to me beca drug abuse of the wealth of experiences it has to offer as a student. Although I enjoy English Literature and Chemistry two of my A take aim´ subjects, I am especially keen to study Biology and Psychology. For me, the main appeal of the course lies in the variety of topics that will be covered. The aspects of Biology I find particularly interesting are neuroscience and how the immune system functions and responds. In Psychology, I am very interested in what makes people extraordinary and how different factors shape our personality.   I have had two piece of work placements (East Barnet Library in June 1998 and WH Smith in April 2000), both of which proved successful and productive. These experiences especially allowed me to use my interpersonal skills to the full. In my references, both employers remarked on my willingness to learn, my enthusiasm and initiative as well as my ability to wor k independently and as part of a team.   One of the most interesting posts I have held in school is Deputy Managing Director of the Young Enterprise´ company, Opus 21, I order the experience both rewarding and challenging. We encountered some problems at first, but the team worked together to solve them and I felt a real sense of congratulate to see the company succeed. My skills were further put to use when I helped represent my school in the Team Technology´ competition at the Logica´ central office in London. This involved solving problems in highly realistic business situations, within a limited term. My group was Runner-up, winning one week of work experience with Logica´ and prize money for our school.   Throughout my schooling I have been closely involved in charity work. Being sponsored to speak French for a day proved to be one of my most innovative (and amusing) methods of raising money.   I have a variety of hobbies outside school. W hen time allows, I find playing the keyboard and creative writing, such as poetry, a change from my studies. I enjoy using computers as a hobby and to diversify the skills I have gained from my RSA word processing course. My other pursuits include more physical activities such as attending the gym regularly, dancing and cycling.

Ameri gage Author, Edgar Allan Poe, wrote short stories that were completely different than any of the other stories you would hear during the nineteenth century. They did in fact though, have a dandy impact on mints lives. Poes stories were mysterious, dark and sinister. People credit Poe with the invention of Science Fiction and Mystery genres. Poe had an impact on not only American Literature, but also on many writers through the years and even singers today. Those are some reasons why Poe should and is included in a coachs curriculum. It is said that Poes stories and poems were filled with terror, fear, death, murder, insanity, torture and the unknown because Poe experienced a large amount of tragedy in his life. His father was an soaking and left Edgar when he was young. Poes give was also out of the picture at a young age due to dying of tuberculosis. His foster mother and his wife also died. Poe was born into poverty, he lived in poverty and he died in poverty. Poe wrote things that other writers found wicked. It was considered too vulgar by many, but it was a true problem with people that he had no problem talking about it. It is a horror story told from a first-person point of view. This story is famous for showing that a short story can produce such an effect on the reader. For an author to be in a school curriculum, you do not have to just influence other writers. It is good to be able to inspire and influence all kind of people.
